Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan sign an agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism

  On 14 July, during the state visit of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Uzbekistan, an agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism was signed between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of Turkmenistan. 



The document envisages wide coverage in the media of joint international conferences, forums, seminars and exhibitions aimed at promoting the tourism potential of countries and joint tourist routes "The Great Silk Road", "One trip - the whole region."

The agreement is aimed at the implementation of agreed measures to conduct advertising campaigns in the media, study tours and organize training and retraining of personnel, advanced training for representatives of the tourism industry, exchange of information, further development of existing and development of new combined (joint) tourist destinations, as well as the development cross-border tourism exchange.

The signing and implementation of this Agreement will further increase the tourist flow from Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan, the recognition of the tourist brand of Uzbekistan in the market of Turkmenistan and the activation of ties between the subjects of the tourism industry of the two countries.

The agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of Turkmenistan from 16 January 1996 and the agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism between the National Company of the Republic of Uzbekistan "Uzbektourism" and the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Tourism and Sports from 25 February 2009 become invalid.
