A meeting at the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage was held with a representative of The Wall Street Journal

    A meeting was held at the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage with Denise Metz, regional head for work with Germany, Austria, the countries of Northern, Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia of one of the most influential US publications "The Wall Street Journal" (WSJ). The meeting was attended by advisers to Minister Temur Mirzayev, Lola Rakhmanbayeva and Deputy Director of the National PR Center Bahodir Shakirov. The WSJ representative highly appreciated the reforms to develop tourism and preserve cultural heritage in Uzbekistan. In addition, he expressed a desire to cooperate in promoting the tourism potential of our country and noted that this would be important in attracting investors to the industry. Thailand introduces new concessions for tourists from Uzbekistan

  According to the decision of the Government of Thailand on 19 August, from 1 October 2022 to 31 March 2023, for foreigners who have the right to enter the country without a visa, as well as for citizens of our country, the visa-free period was extended from 30 to 45 days. Also, this period has been extended from 15 to 30 days for citizens of countries receiving visas on arrival in the Kingdom, in particular, for citizens of Uzbekistan.

  Over 2.4 million tourists visited Uzbekistan in January-July, increasing last year’s figures by 2.2 times (in the same of period last year there were 1.3 million). According to statistics for the first seven months of this year, the largest number of tourists from neighboring countries such as Kazakhstan - over 700 thousand people, from Kyrgyzstan - over 650 thousand people, from Tajikistan - over 630 thousand people; as well as citizens of the following countries: - Russia - 247.2 thousand people; - Turkey - 38.6 thousand people; - Korea - 8.4 thousand people; - Germany - 8 thousand people; - USA - 6.3 thousand people; - India - 5.2 thousand people; - France - 5.2 thousand people; - Azerbaijan - 5.1 thousand people; - Israel - 5 thousand people; - Great Britain - 4.7 thousand people; - Italy - 3 thousand people; - Spain - 2.5 thousand people. Tourism potential and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan will be presented in Spain

    For the first time, Uzbekistan will take part in the ancient cultural festival "Moors and Christians", which will be held from 25 to 29 August in the province of Valencia (Spain). As part of the festival, which has been held annually in Spain since the 14th century, colorful and unforgettable processions will take place, reflecting the influence of ancient cultures and traditions of different peoples of the world on the development of modern civilization. The initiative of Uzbekistan’s participation in the largest event in Spain belongs to the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It is planned that this event will have a positive impact on the promotion of the tourism potential and cultural and historical heritage of the Uzbek people among the population of the EU countries. The Sitorai Mokhi Khosa Applied Art Museum

  The Sitorai Mokhi Khosa Applied Art Museum 4 kilometers north from Bukhara, along the Gidjuvan-led road, on the side of the Samarkand gates, there is a wonderful out-of-town summer palace named Sitorai Mokhi Khosa which belonged to the dynasty of the last Bukhara's Emirs (the palace resembles stars and the moon). The first facilities of the palace were built during the reign of Emir Nasrullokhan (1826-1860). 
 The main structures of the summer palace were being built in the years of power of Mir Sayyid Alimkhan. the last Emir of Bukhara (1911-1920). The palace is divided into the new and the old parts. The official reception room of the new palace is performed as «П». The palace's northern side has a high terrace that is named «salomkhona» (greeting room); in the northern and eastern parts of the palace there are «ziyofatlar zali» (sitting-room), «kutish zali* (waiting room), «takhthona» (throne room), «khazinakhona» (Treasury). About 2.5 million tourists visited Bukhara region, exported tourist services worth 2.3 trillion soums

  At the twenty-ninth plenary session of the Senate, a report was heard by the khokim of Bukhara region on the work carried out in the region to raise the tourism sector to a new level and develop the service sector. It was noted that certain work has been carried out in the region to further develop tourism, protect cultural heritage sites, and improve the quality of service. In particular, as a result of the fact that the number of countries with visa-free entry to Uzbekistan for foreign citizens reached 90, almost 49 thousand foreign tourists visited the Bukhara region in 2021, and more than 65 thousand in the first quarter of 2022. After the pandemic, there was an upward trend in domestic tourism, including the number of local tourists in 2021 amounted to 2.5 million, and in the first quarter of 2022 - 698 thousand. Since 2021, 28 new hotels, 29 hostels, 45 family guest houses have been created in the region, the total number of accommodation facilities has been provided in excess

      On 26 July 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan adopted Resolution “On amendments and additions to some resolutions of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with further improvement of conditions for tourism industry entities”. On the basis of the resolution, small businesses wishing to establish the activities of family guest houses will be provided with compensation in the amount of 5 billion soums. This amount will be allocated by commercial banks in the national currency, with an interest rate not exceeding 1.5% of the main rate of the Central Bank, for a period of up to three years and to cover the part that exceeds the main rate, but not more than 30% of the main rate. Compensation will be allocated from the Business Support Fund under the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction. Tourism Concept "Blessed Pilgrimage" approved

    A Presidential resolution "On measures to accelerate the development of cooperation with the Turkic states in the field of tourism" was adopted.
