Seven cultural heritage sites located in Bukhara are included in the List of Cultural Heritage of the Islamic World and received certificates
On 3-6 July 2022, the 10th session of the Islamic world of ICESCO was held at the ICESCO headquarters (Kingdom of Morocco, Rabat). At this session, 7 cultural heritage sites located in Bukhara were included in the List of Cultural Heritage of the Islamic World and received certificates.
Certificates related to Ismail Samani Mausoleum, Chor Bakr, Bahauddin Naqshband complexes, Magoki Attar Mosque, Poyi Kalon Ensemble, the ruins of the ancient city of Poykent and Tashsaroi Madrasah were presented by ICESCO General Director Salim Al Malik.
The inclusion in the UNESCO list of historical monuments of our country is of great importance for the promotion of our rich cultural heritage throughout the world, in particular, for the further recognition of our culture in the Islamic world. The territory of Uzbekistan is historically an area that has made a great contribution to the development of Islam.
The Cultural Heritage Agency intends to organize international conferences and practical meetings with the participation of Islamic scholars to promote the rich cultural heritage of our country, in particular the monuments that played a big role in the development of our religion and culture, as well as to attract international grants for the preservation of cultural heritage.
