Bahouddin Naqshband Complex

  The Bahouddin Naqshband complex in Bukhara is perhaps the most religoiusly important monument to be included in the Zarafshan-Karakum Corridor @UNESCO World Heritage Site. Bahouddin Naqshband is the saint who founded the Naqshbandi order of Sufism, and Naqshbandi pilgrims come here from all over the world to pray and pay their respects at his grave. In the 16th century when the complex's main buildings were constructed, it was common to combine a necropolis with a ritual building. In 1544, Abd al-Aziz-khan erected an above-ground crypt for the saint. It is a dakhma with a carved marble fence on top. Later, the mother of Abulfayz Khan (1711-1747) built the mosque with two ivans (terraces), and then Nasrullah Khan's vizier (minister) Hakim Kushbegi built a second mosque in the 19th century.   April 1 - On the eve of the World Laughter Day, the "Nasriddin Efandi" festival will be launched in the historical places of Bukhara. This was reported by the press service of the State Tourism Development Committee. The holiday is rich in jokes and colorful legends related to the famous characters of short humorous, satirical miniatures and anecdotes, including the daily tales of Khoja Nasriddin. In addition, on this day, the "Oriental food" festival will be organized, and visitors will have the opportunity to taste delicious dishes and sweets of the national cuisine of Uzbekistan. According to the Resolution, from 2024: for the unhindered movement of persons with disabilities at cultural heritage sites, ramps, skirting boards and elevators are installed without causing damage to these objects, as well as for the blind - models of cultural heritage objects in a reduced size, with information placed on them in Braille; on railway and public transport, as well as at all airports, train stations, and bus stations, conditions are created and special lifting ramps and comfortable stair handrails are installed for persons with disabilities and persons with limited physical capabilities, and on-board strollers are provided (special strollers for persons with disabilities disability); Until 1 January 2027 the following will be covered: 50 percent, but not more than 500 thousand soums, of travel expenses in Uzbeki
